Party make up for this festive season

If you’ve got a bit of an inner drama queen (who doesn’t?!) then the festive season offers up the perfect chance to indulge in a bit of drama when it comes to your make up. Think glitz, glamour and going just a little bit over the top – it is Christmas after all.

Since the season, though fun of course, can be a bit hectic, it is always a good idea to plan in advance what you want your beauty look to be. For example if you know you’re going to be pressed for time, then perhaps it’s best to give the contouring or perfect cat eye a miss. Here are some of our favourite party looks that are quick and easy to do too.

Glitter Eyes

Adding a bit of glitter and sparkle to your eyes is one of the quickest and easiest ways to transform daytime make up into something that’s suitable for a full on festive ball. Choose from glitter kohl pencils, liquid glitter eye liners, loose glitter dust and of course glitter eye shadow. Our favourite has to be good old eye shadow; it’s so easy to apply, it’s not messy (looking at you loose glitter dust!) , you can pick it up pretty cheaply and there’s a whole range of colours out there. We love wintry whites, icy blues and pastel purples and pinks for a gorgeous look that’s still easy to do.

Vixen Lips

Rich, dark and full lips are all something that any temptress should aspire to have, and if you want to release your inner glamour puss, a deep berry lip shade is going to do that for you. If you’re going to be on the go all day then a lip stain is going to be your best friend; choose a shade that suits you from deep plum, mulberry shades and burgundy reds. If you’ve got the time though, we absolutely adore the matt lip that’s been in this year. Classy, elegant and completely stunning, you can vamp up your look with the right shade. Keep the eyes simple with just some mascara.

Gold glamour

Metallic shades are a key look over the festive season and this year it looks set to be gold that takes the crown. For a stunning style use gold eye shadow and build it up for an incredibly burnished look. You could always go all out too with a light dusting of golden shimmer powder and a sheer golden hint to your lips. We also love the idea of tipping our lashes ever so slightly with a touch of gold. Although perhaps a little ostentatious, this look is a wonderful one for the season.

So now that that’s your makeup sorted, all you have to worry about now is the party outfit!
